21st March

Things are cool atmo. Had training for sales job on thurs and friday. Its commission but I think I'll be a gd salesman. Its door-to-door but a good product - OPTUS, which are a mobile network, selling their new broadband and telephony deals. It all really comes down to how well you can sell, but for every sale you get $120 - so I'm aiming for two sales everyday - if its that easy, we'll have to wait and see till monday. Our intro talk was interesting as they said that out of 800 applicants the 10 people that were with me in training, including two british female backpackers, were selected. My interview was with two other guys and I was sure one of them would get it, because he had sales experience - well I obviously sold myself in the interview - which was what it was about. The problem is I need smarter clothes, so other the weekend Im gonna pick up some posh shoes, shirt and suit trousers; Mark the guy I had the interview with said he would bring me a tie. Apparently if i keep all my reciets though, even public transport, at the end of the tax year I can get all this money back, so any food, clothes - anything job related - I would just need to get in contact with an accountant come july, or when moving on. Thanks for the love kristof, appreciate it. I hope everyone else is fine and dandy!xxx

They must be some pretty hefty contracts if u're getting $120 commision out of it!

Not to be disparaging, but u're gonna massively struggle to sell them. I actually saw a program ages ago and there was a girl on it doing exactly the same thing. She did it for 3 weeks, made no sales, and therefore gave up with nothing to show for it.

And what's all this crap about being some sort of chosen few out of hundreds lol. They just spin you that crap to make you feel privileged to have the job. These jobs have a massive turnover cos ppl get sucked in with commision promises but quickly realise it's not the case and quit. Ask around and i bet hardly anyone's worked there for more than a month.

Having said all that, good luck and I'm sure u'll be a rip-roaring success.
